There is no longer a need to guess or make assumptions about a patient's physical or physiologic state.
Typically, clinicians will either perform an eyeball test on patients before surgery or before embarking on a course of treatment, or they will use BMI to gauge relative health. Unfortunately, these approaches are too crude in their evaluation.
Analytic Morphomics®, the measurement of specific bio-markers about a patient's body collected from medical imaging addresses this lack of specificity. The types of data that are captured and analyzed include, but are not limited to:
- Organ size and condition
- Muscle volume and quality from psoas and other muscle groups
- Visceral and subcutaneous fat volumes, distribution, and density
- Bone measures including density (BMD) and shape from cortical and trabecular bone, and
- Vascular measures including calcification, lengths, and location
These measurements provide actual quantifiable data about the patient's current state, by measuring and analyzing what's on the inside.
